What Is the Indonesia Second Home Visa?
The Indonesia Second Home Visa is a long-term visa designed for foreigners who wish to live in Indonesia, including Bali, for up to 5 years — with the possibility of extension.
This visa allows eligible applicants to enjoy a stable and extended stay, offering a seamless lifestyle without the need for frequent visa renewals or exits.
⚠️ Important: The Second Home Visa is strictly for residence purposes. Working or earning income from within Indonesia is not permitted. Remote work for an overseas employer is allowed.
What You Can Do with the Second Home Visa:
- Stay in Indonesia for 5 years continuously without needing to exit.
- Bring eligible family members (spouse, children, or parents) under the same visa scheme.
- Apply for Indonesian citizenship (if you meet the criteria).
- Enroll in courses or study at institutions in Indonesia.
- Travel in and out freely with multiple-entry privileges.
What You Cannot Do:
- Work for or be employed by an Indonesian company.
- Engage in any business activity or trade within Indonesia.
Processing Time & Application
Total Process: Approximately 1 Month
Visa Issuance: ~3 Weeks
Immigration Reporting: ~1 Week (upon arrival in Denpasar)
🔁 Offshore Only: This visa must be applied for from outside Indonesia.
If you are already in Indonesia, you can remain on your current visa while your Second Home Visa is processed, then fly out and return once the new visa is approved.

Required Documents
To begin the visa process, you must provide:
- Proof of financial capability:
Personal bank account showing a minimum balance of IDR 2,000,000,000 (~USD 125,000)
(or equivalent in other currency) - Valid passport:
Must be valid for at least 36 months
(Scan/color copy of full ID page) - Recent passport-sized photo
(Selfie with any background is acceptable) - Address in Indonesia
(Villa, hotel, or long-term rental is fine) - Signed statement letters
(Templates provided — digital signatures accepted) - For dependents (if applicable):
Birth certificate or family card proving relationship
Documents must be in English or officially translated into Indonesian
Changing Your Address
If you move during your stay:
- Notify us (Visvasa Global Services) about your new address
- Obtain a Domicile Letter from your new Banjar office
- Submit the letter to immigration for record updates or KITAS renewal
Process of Making Indonesia Second Home Visa
Submit Document
We submit all documents to the system and wait 2-3 weeks for the E-Visa of Second Home visa to be issued.
Your Visa Is Ready
Once the e-Visa is issued, you have 90 days to enter Indonesia.
Drop Passport To Us
After your arrival in Indonesia, you have 2 weeks to drop your passport at our office to report to immigration along with all documents required above (all documents need to be original)
Get Your Passport Back
You will get your passport back and the visa process completed in 7 business days.
