[June 2025 Update] – What Every Foreigner Needs to Know
Planning to extend your stay in Bali? Starting June 2025, the Indonesian Immigration Office has reintroduced mandatory biometric registration for all visa extensions, including Visa on Arrival, Single Entry Visas (Index C), and KITAS.
What Is Biometric Registration?
Biometric registration is now a compulsory step in your visa extension process. It involves a one-time in-person visit to the immigration office, where officers will:
- Take your photo
- Scan your fingerprints
- Verify your identity face-to-face
This process supports enhanced national security and immigration control for all foreign nationals in Indonesia.
Which Immigration Offices Conduct Biometrics?
Your appointment location will be assigned based on the address in your visa application:
1. Ngurah Rai Immigration Office (Jimbaran)
- Appointment date & time will be scheduled by our team
- You will receive a queue number
- Attendance is mandatory and punctuality is required
- Rescheduling is allowed only 1 day in advance and only if no overstay occurs
2. Denpasar Immigration Office
- Flexible visit during working hours after registration is complete
- You must notify our team of your preferred visit time
- We will confirm your registration and coordinate your arrival
What Time Should You Arrive?
We highly recommend arriving by 08:00 AM to avoid long queues.
- Officers begin calling queue numbers at 08:30 AM
- Offices typically break for lunch at 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
- Finish your appointment early to avoid afternoon delays
Dress Code Requirements
Immigration offices expect respectful attire. Failure to dress appropriately may result in denial of entry.
Please wear:
✅ Long pants or skirt
✅ Sleeved shirts (no tank tops)
❌ No sandals, flip-flops, or beachwear
❌ No sunglasses, hats, or face coverings
What to Bring
To ensure a smooth experience, please bring the following on your biometric appointment day:
- Registration number (sent by our team)
- Original passport (only needed on the biometric day)
Are There Any Extra Fees?
No additional fees.
Biometric registration is fully included in your visa extension service with Visvasa Global Services. Your visa fee remains unchanged.
When to Start the Process?
We recommend starting your visa extension 14 days before your current visa expires.
This provides ample time to schedule your biometric appointment and avoid any overstay fines.
